Cake Batter Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is my go-to cookie recipe! I make these cookies for almost every holiday, birthday, or any special occasion. It's the perfect treat to bake for someone's birthday if you don't have the time (or don't want) to make an entire birthday cake! I've been using this recipe for years and it's from one of my absolute favorite baking websites, Sally's Baking Addiction. This site has the best, detailed recipes with photos and helpful tips that you can follow step-by-step to have your baked goodies come out perfectly. Some recipes, like this one, even has a lovely video tutorial for you to follow.

What we love about it: These cookies are so easy to make. The recipe doesn't require many ingredients - it's essentially a regular chocolate chip cookie recipe + cake batter + rainbow sprinkles + white chocolate chips. The cookies are delicious, like a yummy, soft, chocolate chip cookie that has been smothered in cake! You get a taste of cake and a taste of a chocolate chip cookie all in one bite. The recipe also makes the perfect amount of cookies - almost 30! - so you can bake a lot all in one shot for gatherings or spread them out for multiple events. This recipe is versatile and you can add different colored sprinkles for different holidays!

Modifications: I don't ever need to modify anything to this recipe, but I do go heavy handed on the chocolate chips! I also like adding dark chocolate chips to my batter.

Notes for next time: Be sure you'll have enough time to chill the dough because you have to do so for at least two hours or more. This is a crucial step, and one that you cannot skip, so just be sure to either prep the dough ahead of time (you can do so the day before), or have enough time to let the dough chill.
